“Virtual Views” explores the growing importance of electronic media in contemporary art as seen in the work of the pioneers in digital art. The exhibition features works by Jim Campbell, Daniel Canogar, Craig Dorety, John Gerrard, Matthew Kluber, Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, Manfred Mohr, Anne Morgan Spalter, Alan Rath, Daniel Rozin, Björn Schülke, Jennifer Steinkamp and Leo Villareal. Artworks in the exhibition were selected from the Carl & Marilynn Thoma Art Foundation’s extensive collection, which spans the history of the medium from the 1960s through the present, including software-based electronic light art, interactive and Internet art and other forms of contemporary art that engage technology.
