I’ve been less than productive during this time and missing hugs terribly. Luckily, I had a few projects underway that helped keep me in the present: teaching now-virtual art classes, a few carpet portrait commissions, and an exhibition at the Miami International Airport -whose install date (late March) was postponed due to the shutdowns.

There’s a place for everything at MIA is a two-part project that includes an update of a previous piece using my parents’ junk drawer and contents now shown next to a re-created version of that junk drawer using tactilely beautiful red flocked objects mirroring the original; and a new installation using found objects, furniture bits and a new lamp sculpture set against a backdrop of sewn fabric strips.
