If I‘ve Said It Once, I‘ve Said It a 1,000 Times is a site-specific installation through which this artist investigates the sociological impact of phrases that have become clichés defining behaviors and customs. Pandrea, who has always been interested in the cultural impact of language and textuality, began these experiments by inserting phrases into his paintings, phrases that in many cases strengthened the latent meaning of the work, conditioned its interpretation, and could even substitute for the tangible work per se, calling on the fact that the idea the viewer had in his mind about the message could be stronger than the work itself.

His research into the use of language caused him to notice those cultural clichés that live buried in our subconscious. This concept gave birth to the immersive environment that fills an entire room at the Art and Culture Center in Hollywood. The thousands of colored threads that hang suspended from the ceiling hold hundreds of different phrases printed on transparent acrylic, making them appear to float in space. The visitor is able to walk among them, recognizing stereotypes that in one way or another have determined his expectations and daily actions. Through February 24th, 2013.
