This is an exquisite selection of pieces by the Venezuelan sculptor James Mathison. In his works, Mathison extensively explores the behavior of matter, whether it be resin or bronze, and the recording of marks, imprints and vestiges left on surfaces by the passage of time.

His works transmit a humanist message and even dialogue with the imprint of certain artists traditionally associated with humanism like Miguel Angel, Degas, or Rodin, but move away from formal academic codes, instead proposing a contemporary resemantization of the representation of the human figure. The human body is at times presented in its entirety, at others fragmented, but each part is granted autonomy and its own voice. Faces, heads, arms and hands are erected as independent structures with messages alluding to an intimist dialogue with the existential universe of the author.
